The Home Monastery

10-day online
meditation retreat

Deepen your meditation practice right where you are

No travel, no flights, and no need to take days off work. The beauty of a home retreat is the seamless integration of your practice into your daily life. Unlike in-person retreats, the transition afterward is smooth, allowing you to deepen your meditation while aligning with your day-to-day schedule. The retreat spans two weekends, providing four days for immersive practice and engagement, and five days (in-between) for integrating mindfulness into your routine. Wish to go even deeper? Feel free to take those 5 days off and we'll provide an adjusted , more intense schedule for you.

Get carefully crafted workbooks and 1-on-1 mentoring

Our workbooks cover essential areas to enhance your meditation practice, including preparing for a home retreat, integrating monastic aspects into your daily life, and working with the precepts. We'll also explore the intricate relationship between food & entertainment and their impact on mindfulness. Choose from three practice programs tailored to your needs—foundations for beginners, loving-kindness meditation for more experienced practitioners, and a hybrid meditation-yoga program. Each program offers three flexible schedule options, requiring full commitment on both weekends and one hour daily on weekdays (or more if you have the time). Benefit from 1-on-1 mentoring with an experienced teacher through daily asynchronous check-ins. Submit a detailed form at the end of each day, and wake up to personalized guidance, tips, and encouragement the next morning. Embrace a retreat experience without time zone concerns, as all elements unfold asynchronously.

Benefit from your mentors’ 30+ years of combined experience

Javier Nanni began his meditation journey and exploration of Buddhism over 15 years ago. Meditation has been a steadfast companion throughout various stages of his life, starting in the last years of high school, continuing through university, early career experiences, leading a technological venture, and ultimately transitioning from the business world to wholeheartedly dedicate himself to the dhamma. Along this path, Javier has accumulated numerous insights that he now aims to share with others on a similar journey. In terms of formal training, he completed the Mindfulness Instructor Training (BMIT) program offered by Quietud, where he later served as a tutor and co-teacher for two years. He also holds a Master's in Mindfulness from the University of Zaragoza. Despite the emphasis on Mindfulness in his formal education, Javier's personal path aligns with the teachings of the Buddha, particularly within what is commonly known as "Early Buddhism."

Rosa Rial brings over a decade of personal meditation practice and a unique perspective to her role as a mentor at The Home Monastery. She is a certified Mindfulness instructor, holding an MMTCP certification with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Rosa's teaching style goes beyond the mystical, providing practical applications for the present moment—whether in the grocery store line, on your home mat, or during your commute to work. No loincloths, weekly fasts, or social life sacrifices are required. Additionally, she is a certified yoga teacher (E-RYT® 500, YACEP®) through Frog Lotus Yoga International. Mentoring others is not just a job for her; it's her vocation. Alongside her role at The Home Monastery, she served as the director and co-teacher of the Almazen RYS® 200 Yoga Teacher Training program for four years.
